If you’re here, you know me. I live on a small homestead where I grow food, raise animals, and make clean body products. For the past several years, I have focused on reducing toxins and supporting my health through diet, minerals, and detox protocols. As a Virgo, this is the hardest thing I have ever done. I do not ask for help, but I have to set my pride aside as time is not on my side.

I have Mentor silicone breast implants. I have had them for several years, and, as we know, hindsight is 20/20. At the time, I vetted companies, and these were non-rupture and the safest available. I was young and not who I am today by any means, but that person got me here, so I am ok w any mistakes that were made.

About a month ago, an MRI confirmed bilateral intracapsular rupture. The silicone is leaking. Since then, my symptoms have intensified — constant chest burning, heavy brain fog, equilibrium issues, and ongoing systemic inflammation.

The FDA and Mentor guidance has changed since I got them. Mentor now recommends regular MRI screening for silent rupture every 2–3 years because most silicone ruptures do not show obvious external signs at first. This was to get FDA approval to put them back on the market.

Mine were confirmed on imaging after symptoms became severe. TriCare is my insurance and did pay for the MRI and referred me to a surgeon, but at the last minute, denied the surgery. I desperately need the implants and capsules removed. The estimated cost is approximately $22,000.

I have been managing the symptoms with consistent detox support, but the source needs to come out. This is a documented medical issue that insurance has blocked.

Note: Individual U.S. lawsuits against Mentor for implant rupture or related symptoms have largely been unsuccessful due to federal preemption protections for FDA-approved devices. Many cases have been dismissed or terminated by the judge.
